PHYSICALITY OF FEELING
2024
This series emerges from an exploration of how emotion might take shape—how intangible inner experiences can be made physical, given weight, volume, and presence. Using balloons as a starting point, I modeled forms in response to different feelings, allowing the malleability of the material to express the fluid, often ambiguous nature of emotion. These reference images then became the foundation for paintings that further translated these sculpted forms into another medium, deepening the dialogue between feeling and form. Driven by a desire to articulate emotions that are otherwise difficult to verbalise, this process transforms internal states into tangible objects—an attempt to bridge the space between the ephemeral and the material, between what is felt and what can be seen. In rendering these forms, I seek to give physicality to the often elusive, yet deeply embodied, nature of feeling.
